Thac Mo Hydropower Mo Lake

In the late 1980s of the XXth Century, the staff of geological, natural resources and power industries of Vietnam found out a valley in the pristine forest and mountain. After nearly one decade of construction, Be River was blocked to create the vast wetlands of Thac Mo lake with the 12.000 area of up to 12,000 ha and the hydropower plant was formed. The lake supplies water to Thac Mo Hydropower Plant with the capacity of nearly 08 billion kw/year which is the important energy source for the provinces in the Southeast Region and contributes actively to improving the ecological environment Binh Phuoc Province. The lake is surrounded with the hills, mountains, forest trees and there are 10 big and small islands at the middle of the lake with the area of more than 200 ha. Visiting Thac Mo Lake, the tourists will have the opportunity to not only enjoy the beauty of the lake in the central highlands with pure and green water, dreamlike landscape but also go fishing in the peaceful nature with the fish floats, small islands in the morning dew with storks and sound of the birds coming here to build nests etc. Especially, the tourists can enjoy dishes made from hemibagrus, eels caught from Be River and banana flowers from Ba Ra forest with wine next to the fire.
